Over 122 countries are represented and my role was to try and grow these UK-wide trade relations through a trade exhibition.Alongside this role, I was the Event Manager of two other exhibitions. These exhibitions are the UK's only dedicated food & drink packaging event, and the UK's only dedicated food and drink waste and sustainability event. Over 130 exhibitors exhibit the latest solutions to growing young and established businesses. The role also requires constant forecasting, budgeting and reporting, international agent relations, association management, sponsorship sales, and working closely with marketing, operations and PR team on a regular basis.I was also responsible for launching our major South African based exhibitions into Libya, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and Kenya.Being in the Emerging Markets branch of the company, I launched trade exhibitions into as yet unestablished exhibition industries. The first of which being a much needed security exhibition in Tripoli, Libya. (After mulitple car bombings and the like we decided to withdraw our operations there in late 2015 until things panned out.)We then launched geo-clones of our industry figurehead packaging events which had been running successfully for many years in both Johannesburg and Capetown. The Nairobi, Kenya and Lagos, Nigeria events have grown steadily each year since their inception.Alongside these events, I was also sales manager of a launch mining exhibition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This was an extremely challenging, yet fruitful launch, which helped to further establish mining as Saudi Arabia's third pillar of their economy. Show less
