Worked as a systems engineer with the U.S. Federal Government Markets Division. I was key member on the RF design and simulation of systems all around the U.S. Became very familiar with P25, RF engineering, coverage map creation, and proposal writing.

Developed and tested a high speed packet filter to blacklist websites for the Virginia Tech network. Created a full test network with servers and clients to simulate internet traffic. Compared results with an open source web proxy that functioned the same way.

Worked on the BETSCC-SIL team at Night Vision Lab during the summer of my junior year. I aided the network engineer with configuration of Cisco products as well as helped the rest of the team operate and maintain the sensors. Also created two scripts using python to help automate router configurations used in theater.

Worked as a network engineer within the Information Assurance Directorate responsible for the accreditation and certification of High Assurance IP Encryptor (HAIPE) devices from vendors such as General Dynamics, ViaSat, and L3 Systems. Increased networking proficiency and knowledge by designing and configuring complex custom network topologies using a variety of commercial networking hardware and software in order to pragmatically run tailored security evaluations on the HAIPE devices.
