Mr. Roark is president and principal ecologist of Ecological Associates, Inc. Mr. Roark has over thirty years of professional experience in organizing and managing environmental and ecological studies. He has worked for State and Federal environmental and natural resources agencies, and provided consulting services within the private sector. Mr. Roark's expertise is broad based and includes wetlands and terrestrial ecology, fisheries biology, wildlife biology, water quality, and forest ecology. He has worked extensively with federal and state environmental regulatory processes. Mr. Roark has conducted numerous wetland studies, environmental impact assessments, habitat evaluations, timber and natural resource inventories, protected species surveys, and ecological risk assessments. Mr. Roark is proficient in developing survey and monitoring programs for timberlands, vegetative communities, and aquatic and terrestrial resources. Mr. Roark has successfully designed, implemented, and monitored wetland mitigation and land reclamation projects, and has provided environmental construction management services. Ecological Associates has developed and currently manages two wetland mitigation banks in SC. Most recently, Mr. Roark has been temporarily employed by NewFields and is engaged in the Gulf Oil Spill working for NOAA/NRDA as a team leader providing a variety of chemistry, water quality, sediment, invertebrate and vegetation sampling.Specialties: Wetland delineation, protected species survey, habitat assessment, regulatory coordination, permitting, mitigation planning, forest inventory.
