I am a chartered accountant with over 25 years’ experience, in both public practice and commerce, including founding Shaw Downie in 2009. We specialise in providing accounting, tax, Outsourced Finance Function and consulting solutions to a variety of clients, including High Net Wealth Individuals and businesses in a diverse range of industries. The majority of my career has been focused on the SME market, firstly as the finance director of two successful start up businesses, then as a chartered accountant in public practice, including as a partner at an established Sydney based firm. Prior to this I trained in the Audit Division of Deloitte in Brisbane before working in commercial accounting roles at Honeywell and George Weston Foods.A Certified Tax Advisor with the Taxation Institute of Australia, I have been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia since 1998 and am an active member of several industry groups and regularly attend industry conferences and seminars. I hold a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Laws from Queensland University of Technology, and have commenced a Masters of Taxation at the University of NSW.
