I'm the head developer of a ship side client software called the G5, a client system controlling KU VSAT technologies that resides on vessels at sea, providing internet, voice and TV through VSAT and Fleet Broadband technologies, through a network infrastructure called Xpresslink.Throughout the product life cycle I've introduced process and quality control towards the internal development process for this project, ensuring quality and reliability towards customer experience.During my time at Ship Equip/Inmarsat, ive also designed and developed a graphical user interface from the ground up using C#, ASP.net and WCF to provide an easy to use approach to a complex system underneath.Ive created applications and solutions to automate operational tasks saving time and 'person' resource for the company and myself.Inmarsat utilises new KA band technologies. Going forward we continue to develop automated solutions to provide visability and growth of our existing customer base.

Started fixing defects and importing new functionality in unmanaged C.Progressed on to helping assemble together a UI that used HTML, CSS, Java Script and XML, I was responsible for connecting all the menu navigation systems for the UI.Then in 2003-4 I joined a development team, which were re-writing the HTML UI and converting it to C#.In the development team I covered all aspects of OOD, OOP, Design Patterns, creating functional specifications, Design documents, test plans, unit testing, and integration testing.Implementing Unmanaged to managed interop code, and using the Observer and Visitor patterns to achieve the required results.As part of the job, I travelled to customer sites around Asia and Europe beta testing software, gaining valuable feedback to what the customer expected, and therefore strengthening the customer vendor relationship.

Created test documents from functional specificationsTested all aspects of the printing machine that were produced, including GEM, SECSTravelled to customer sites in Europe to help analyse specific problems with the software and help improve there process with idea’sSpent the later part creating a program in VB6 that aided the test team streamline the day to day process, it included a facility that enabled management to log on and view the overall testing progress against a version of software, the program was fully configurable so the administrator could add remove functionality that had to be tested

Primary job was to analyse and fix problems with customer products sent back to the company, these included switch mode power supplies, alarm systems, alarm sensors and passive door entry systems. Also helped fault finding in the production environment on switch mode power supplies using schematic drawings.
