Previously, 2019-20 Global General Counsel of the private equity backed (KKR) business, A-Gas International. A-Gas is a leader in the supply of environmental services, gases and chemicals. Responsible for all aspects of Legal, Compliance and Corporate Secretariat across a group operating from 16 sites in 10 countries (5 continents). 2015-19, General Counsel, Europe at Centrica PLC (promoted from General Counsel, Energy Marketing and Trading), the FTSE 100 energy utility. Ultimately, managed a team of c.20 covering all legal issues affecting Centrica’s European energy businesses, including, trading, supply, and distributed energy. From 2011-2015, Managing Director, Legal and Compliance, Freepoint (promoted from Director), the private equity (Stonepoint) backed energy trading, supply, transportation and structured finance merchant. Managed a team of c.7 covering all legal, compliance and regulatory matters within Europe. From 2006-11, Legal Director, Commodities (promoted from Associate Director and Manager), Barclays Bank PLC. Ultimately managed a team of c.7 covering all aspects of commodities and energy trading in Europe, Middle East and North Africa.Prior to Barclays, spent six years as a banking/energy litigator and contentious regulatory lawyer at Herbert Smith and White & Case in London and Tokyo.
