Growing up, I was always curious about how people live in different cultural settings and how people experience different areas of the world. I would regularly read about places near and far, and then sketch maps of different states/countries. I would imagine what it would be like to travel and experience different places. Decades on now, that sense of wonder has come to define my professional experiences. I have traveled around the world, lived in different cultural settings, and I have spent over a decade conducting research with and for our communities. So far I have been fortunate to visit 102 countries around the world 🗺 and all 7 continents.I identify as a professional geographer committed to experience industry research. Having worked in academia since 2009, I am motivated to conduct research that advances our understanding of how we experience change and why decisions matter. I believe it is important to connect with people in a diverse and fluid consumer landscape. Curiosity led me to experience places, which has shaped my outgoing personality and ability to connect with people in multicultural settings.As a researcher, I pride myself in my ability to use qualitative and quantitative methods in innovative ways to explore meanings and experiences. I am particularly skilled in exploratory and explanatory mixed methods research, because one method or dataset does not show the full picture. I work independently or with colleagues to identify an appropriate approach to data collection, analysis, and presentation that advances our understanding in a clear and concise manner. I am open to collaboration and regularly mentor my colleagues to support their growth and professional development. I am a dedicated team player who wants to make the way we work and do business more enabling.As I advance in my professional career, I want to help us better understand consumer setting experiences, the products we use and buy, the decisions we make, and why our demands of and for products are continually changing.
