I am passionate about Cybersecurity since this field constantly changes, requiring one to continually digest new trends and technologies. This satisfies my need to acquire knowledge and to continually improve my skills. I also enjoy the balance between business and technology that Cybersecurity requires. Ultimately Cybersecurity is about reducing risks to organizations.I strongly believe my responsibilities to an organization include more than delivering a solution in isolation. I strive to leverage resources, and coordinate with others to create reusable solutions and knowledge capital so the next sale or solution is more efficient, more effective and more profitable for the organization. I am a 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧. I develop cost effective solutions while negotiating through conflicting priorities between the customer, the sales team, engineering, various product groups, vendors and legal. Technology is important, but only one part of the equation. I am 𝙖𝙙𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚. I understand priorities can change quickly, situations can be less than ideal, and time frames can adjust unexpectedly. I am 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙪𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙚𝙣𝙫𝙞𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 without clear guidance. I apply my organization skills to such environments to deliver results. I am 𝙙𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙡 𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙. I decipher tedious compliance requirements, standards and guidelines such as PCI, HIPAA, NIST, etc. where appropriate for technical solutions I develop.Outside of work I enjoy running, both for the disciplined personal challenge and for the health benefits. Running is a life style for me. I've completed 8 Texas marathons, with a personal goal of completing 10, each in a different Texas city. I'm on target to complete my 9th marathon in March 2020. [Update: I completed my 9th Texas marathon on target despite the race being cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions. I took the virtual race option and ran the marathon on a treadmill instead.] [Update 2021: Finished TX Marathon #10 March 2021] Let me know if you've read this 'about' section.
