This internship provided me with great experience and allowed me to use my analytical skills developed through courses I have completed at Ohio University so far.Throughout my internship, I provided operational and analytical support to the Department of Surgery by identifying trends, inconsistencies, and growth opportunities for the nine divisions within the Department. I also supported leadership through the analysis of surgical volumes and financial statements to ensure the achievement of Departmental and System-wide success. I was tasked with the creation of divisional analysis Excel files for the nine divisions within the Department by utilizing Pivot Tables. I was also able to assist administrators with the onboarding process of new physicians and fellows by creating an itinerary and picking up identification badges and parking passes.This internship gave me insight to what the role of an Analyst is like in the real world. I was able to build my analytical skills, as well as expand my professional network. I had a great experience at University Hospitals, and could not have asked for better people to work with.
