Worked as one of two classroom teachers supporting full-time VIMS personnel in William & Mary’s annual Camp Launch initiative to bring opportunity-challenged, highly-motivated students from around the region and expose them to scientific research, career talks, and hands-on projects. Specifically worked at the VIMS campus in Gloucester for the Marine Science Camp with a group of 16 rising sophomores.

Science teacher at River City Middle School, formerly Elkhardt-Thompson Middle School.Daily science instruction of 100+ students in a high-need, Title I school in Richmond's Southside with a large percentage of Spanish-speaking ELLs. In 2019-20, undergoing a restructuring of the curriculum per the division crosswalk of 2010 and 2018 Standards of Learning complete with fresh takes on many lesson plans on common Earth, Space, Physical, and Life Science topics as the bridge between elementary and secondary natural sciences. In 2020-21, I instructed students in a fully virtual model via Google Meet and Google Classroom, including 3 classes of sixth grade "newcomer" students. In Summer 2021, I co-wrote the Newcomer Academy Science curriculum with our ESL lead, consisting of unit plans, lesson plans, and materials for incoming newcomers grades 6-8. In 2021-22, I taught that newcomer science curriculum for 3 periods while balancing a new sixth grade general education curriculum, Amplify Science.Duties include: subject-based team planning including differentiation for exceptional students and ELLs; Google Classroom and Clever integration as part of RPS 6th Grade Chromebook pilot program; Teach Like a Champion 2.0 strategies; ELLevation Education integration; data analysis and student ownership of data; coordinating with external groups to coordinate field trip and enrichment opportunities through the 2019 NOAA BWET grant with James River Park System and James River Association; part of the ETMS communication team; daily lunch duty; utilization of Remind for increased parent engagement; mentoring through EdConnective and monthly "Zero Experience Teacher" PD opportunities.

Elementary/Middle grades camp instructor at Henrico County's Summer Blast day camp. Worked closely with the coordinators at 2 different sites (Eastern Henrico Recreation Center for grades 6-8, Glen Lea Elementary for grades 1-5) to develop, lead, and implement group games, art projects, and special events such as enrichment opportunities, "game trucks", grill/cookouts, and water days. Responsible for carrying and administering any assigned medical equipment while in charge of the child it belonged with; rotated groups frequently but spent the most time with grades 1/2/3 at Glen Lea and 6/7 at EHRC.

Filled in for absent teachers in RPS grades K-12 and specialty classes (art/PE/library/etc.) with focus on middle schools in southern Richmond

Assist with Physical Education at Kempsville Meadows Elementary School in a half-day position. Facilitate lesson plans, set up and explain equipment, supervise elementary school kids during recess, P.E. class, and during collaboration blocks, incorporate health and wellness curriculum into large and small-group games according to P.E. teacher's lesson.

STEDI SubSkills Training Course certified. Work with elementary, middle, and high schools to fill teacher absences utilizing Frontline Absence Management. Work in all schools in the district and any subject, though prefer high school biology/life sciences and elementary P.E.
