From building my own businesses to helping others build and establish a great culture in their own organizations I founded and now lead the Trust and Track Institute. I created Nick’s Pizza & Pub to give families—like mine—a safe, fun, comfortable, affordable place to kick-back, have a great meal and a good time. It’s that simple. My sincere commitment to delivering on this simple promise each and every day has made Nick’s Pizza & Pub an everyday destination—whether dining in or taking out.Before creating my restaurant I worked as a union carpenter in the construction business. Working diligently and with the strong business ethic in which I was raised, I learned the myriad of skills required to become a successful general contractor. Soon I had my own construction company and made my focus home building. Working with families in custom home construction I realized I sincerely enjoyed having people touch their own happiness as they moved into one of my homes. After many successful years, I wanted to impact more people.I designed and built Nick’s Pizza & Pub in Crystal Lake, Illinois, in 1995. My restaurants have won award after award for best pizza, best service, and for ongoing service to the community in a multitude of ways. In addition, our unique Trust-and-Track Leadership style and business model has been featured such publications as The New York Times, The Economist, Inc. Magazine, Fast Company and Investor's Business Daily. Ranked in Forbes as one of the top 25 small businesses in America 2017.My key role at Nick’s Pizza & Pub is a mentor to the senior leadership team. I am constantly in tune with the community and a model for business owners that want to connect with community and team members alike. I am also clearly committed to meeting the needs of the community, our investors and our team through the daily implementation of the Purpose Statement and Operational Values of the Company. My passion and personal purpose now takes me and my team at the Trust and Track Institute to consult other organizations to cultivate dynamic cultures of trust and develop the leaders to support these purpose and values driven organizations.
