Founding member and current CEO of Interactive Entertainment South Africa a non-profit company that is mandated to lobbying, develop policy and help grow the local game, serious games, simulation, board-game, augmented reality and VR sectors. In the position I have drafted responses to legislation, advised on policy, conducted research and frequently meet with government, foreign bodies and investors to ensure that the legal, economic, social and political environments are the best they can possibly be to ensure that the industry thrives.Through IESA I have successfully organised and ran fully funded trade missions to France and Germany. We have funded stands at South Africa's largest gaming expo's (rAge and EGE).

Nicholas is currently providing various practical corporate and ICT legal services, including:- Providing legal assistance to the South African digital entertainment industry including assisting with incorporation, drafting and negotiating of licencing agreements and business development- Helping various organisations to comply with POPI, from dual listed multinationals to start-ups. In various industries, including retail, financial services, marketing, healthcare, manufacturing, and telecomunications.- Helping and advising schools with issues of cyber-bullying and online privacy.- Running workshops and presenting to thousands of people over many years.- Drafting and reviewing agreements.- Advising on the law regards marketing (including internet marketing) and advertising, including competitions and sponsorships.- Working with direct marketers.- Drafting MOIs and Shareholder Agreements.- Dealing with issues relating to intellectual property, especially copyright and confidentiality issues. Conducting various IP audits.- Assisting organisations to comply with their obligations to provide access to information.- Finding solutions for technology start-ups.- Resolving domain name disputes, including transfers and disputes.
