Hi! I am a first year Biomedical Engineering Master's student studying at the University of British Columbia.I adore biomedical engineering as a discipline, because at its heart, it is all about bringing positive changes in peoples' lives. My goal is to either be involved in the research and development of cutting-edge new therapeutic devices, or be the one that can advocate for and bring these technologies to patients as a clinician. The technology we have access to today is mind boggling, and using it to bring hope and healing is one of the most noble causes anybody can spend their life on. Personally, I enjoy solving problems and designing solutions, not only because of the opportunity to exercise creativity, teamwork, and skill; but because I understand that behind every technical design problem lies a human need that needs to be filled. That understanding is what drives me in both my personal and professional lives.Some of my personal interests not having to do with the biomedical engineering side of things include reading, creative writing, outrigger canoe paddling, and going on walks in this wonderful world we live in.At the end of the day, the people you know (and whose lives you affect for the better) are what matter.
