Since March 2023, Nick serves as Director of Policy & Research at the Greater Baltimore Committee. Prior to its merger with GBC, Nick served as Research & Data Analyst for Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore from 2019 to 2021, and assisted EAGB and GBC in a consulting role from 2021 to 2023. Nick's skills include policy analysis, data analysis, community organizing, GIS mapping, and marketing/branding, garnered from prior industry and academic experience. He is a current PhD candidate (ABD) in Political Science at Boston University, where his research analyzes overlaps between economic and political inequalities in cities through the lens of landlord-tenant dynamics in low-income areas. Nick received his Master’s degree in Public Policy and Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Maryland. Prior to entering his PhD program, Nick served as Vice President for Strategic Partnerships at an international biotechnology start-up, Folia Water. Nick has also done short-term economic development fieldwork in Guatemala, India, Morocco, and South Africa, and worked in Washington DC for The World Bank Group, FHI360, and the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation. His previous work in urban policy and economic development has been focused in Baltimore, working for Sage Policy Group, Southeast Community Development Corporation, and the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore. Most recently, Nick served as Homeownership Programs Coordinator at the Massachusetts Housing Partnership, where he assisted with the implementation of highly-successful programs to support first-time homebuyers, especially homebuyers of color.
