As the data visualization intern, I produced 5+ charts and maps a day in response to reporter requests. I also pitch and create unique visualizations on timely issues for newsletters and articles and collaborated on long term projects via research, statistical analysis, writing, design, and data visualization.

Funded by the PIT University Network at New America, this is an undergraduate research program that aims to use data science to identify, address, and solve issues in the NYC area via statistics. My team completed a project focused on disparities in the funding of NYC parks.

In this role, I helped to foster community and boost morale across our team of 300+ active members. This involved organizing virtual activities, maintaining and customizing our Slack, and designing merchandise for our volunteers to purchase.

I helped write, collect sources, and copy edit weekly summaries of what we observed in our COVID data. These were published on both The COVID Tracking Project's and The Atlantic's websites.

Within the project, I helped lead a team of 15+ people in collecting, analyzing, and tracking city and county level COVID-19 data. I designed, managed, and maintained several extensive Google Sheet workbooks used by the City Data team, and monitor the daily data collection done by our volunteers until we stopped tracking cities in October. I helped manage Bwog's social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok) and produced content for our ~10,000 followers.

As Deputy News Editor, I was always on call to write the breaking stories as they happened, and guided our staffers through the process of writing longer, more investigative style coverage.

Bwog is a Columbia/Barnard independent news blog. As a staff writer, I pitched and wrote weekly posts about campus life, including satirical shorts, longform investigations, and breaking news stories.
