Serious Pig is a craft food business which develops and distributes an innovative range of snacking products to farm shops, delicatessens and multiple retail outlets.

CPP is an AIM listed provider of financial assistance products to customers in the UK and overseas territories including India, China, Spain and Turkey with annual revenues of £120m.

Created in March 2010 following the demerger by Cable & Wireless plc of its UK and International divisions into separate companies each listed in London. CWC was a full service telecommunications company employing 7,500 people in 34 countries with a turnover of $3bn. Since its demerger it has been transformed by selling businesses in Macau, Monaco and North Africa and reinvesting the proceeds to acquire Columbus Communications and create a Telecoms business with strong converged capability and a market leading position in the Caribbean and Latin American region. Board responsibility for Legal and Regulatory Affairs, HR, Risk Management, PR, Communications, Procurement and IT. Following the disposal of non-core businesses, developed the strategy and led the to migration of the business from a portfolio business to an operations-led organisation based in Miami focused on growing the core business in the Caribbean and Latin America.

CW was a member of the FTSE 100 for many years (market cap £5.6bn, revenues £3.3bn). Joined Cable & Wireless at a time of major challenge and upheaval, shortly after the acquisition of Energis and during a series of profit warnings. With some urgency, worked closely with the Chairman to design and implement a management and governance system which transformed the bureaucratic culture, drastically reduced the Central functions and created two separate autonomous operating units (CWC and CWW) each overseen by its own Operating Board of which I was a member, reporting to the plc Board.

Created during the late ‘90s dot.com boom after the National Grid created a major UK telecoms network using its electricity infrastructure, Energis had considerable early success (FTSE 100 Listed, market cap £11bn). Strategic errors brought financial difficulties, it entered administration in August 2002 and the creditor consortium of banks, owed £670m, injected a further £150m to provide working capital to turn the business around. The debt owed was repaid (almost completely) in November 2005 when the business was sold to Cable & Wireless plc for £800m.Recruited to the ExCo as part of a team to execute the turnaround strategy.

In 1992 the business encountered severe financial difficulties having lost touch with its colleagues and customers before going through the most successful cultural and operational change programme of the 1990s which led to its acquisition by Wal Mart in 1999 for £2.20 per share.Appointed to provide dedicated day to day legal resource. Managed all external legal providers and a full legal and commercial service to the business and its operating divisions throughout its turnaround programme. Played an instrumental role in a number of acquisitions (George Clothing), outsourcing agreements (£350 million, IT ops to IBM) and high profile, creative and commercially disruptive litigation/campaigns, including the overthrow of the Net Book Agreement, resale price maintenance on over the counter medicines and grey market designer goods.
