As a Cats Protection volunteer, I was thrilled to join the charity and combine my love for cats with my passion for all things HR. And I was delighted to fulfil my goal to find work life happiness. As HR Support Services Manager, I drove improvements to both HR process and service delivery and created an environment to help my team do their best job. I increased team performance levels through cross-training and review of end to end transactional activities of employee life cycle.

It was an exciting time to join the D&G business and to lead and transform the HR team for the Brighton Contact Centre. As HR site lead, I partnered the senior leadership team influencing our people strategy with focus on reward and remuneration, talent management and employee relations activity. Being able to influence the strategic HR agenda, I delivered our People Plan with improvements to absence and attrition, achieved consistency and alignment in cross-site HR processes and increased line manager capability. I led the resourcing team specialising in effective and innovative direct hire strategy including new careers site, strength based recruitment model increasing employee retention and local sponsorship opportunities. As Group HR lead for employment policy and development, I introduced a cross-site policy team delivering best in class policies. I led site employee engagement and PR strategy developing a strong employer brand.Very proud to have introduced a site wellbeing strategy resulting in three times winner of The Healthiest Workplace Award at the Sussex Business Awards and inspiring a group wellbeing approach. As an advocate for D&G culture, values and behaviours, I was thrilled to be a judge on panel for Sussex Business Awards for seven years.

I led a team across multiple locations driving ER strategy, advice and guidance and policy development for the healthcare business. At a group level, I represented AXA PPP on the ER centre of excellence with responsibility for the ER education workstream. I influenced group policy including the AXA UK harmonisation of terms and conditions of employment ensuring local business environment understood. I loved having the opportunity to develop creative ER solutions including introduction of new employee representative body and team charter, innovative employment law workshops and I was part of an award-winning project team delivering inspirational discrimination training for all employees.

Tunbridge Wells

I led a team of HR developers delivering creative HR solutions. These included an intranet-based employee handbook and people MI dashboard, role of ‘Assisting Employee’, a volunteer-led team of in-house dispute resolution employees, new performance management process and behavioural model, 50% reduction in time and cost of policy development, and led HR workstream of AXA UK brand programme. I was senior member of HR leadership team with responsibility for designing and developing HR initiatives to support business strategy.
