  • Fru
    Employment Representative
    Fru 2009 - Present
I have had conduct of several FRU cases. In each I ensured that I gave pragmatic advice to my clients and I managed their expectations. The latest case involved non-payment of wages for a consultant. It involved three unsigned written contracts, each of which was varied twice. There was then a change of role and the issue was whether the deductions were unlawful or were agreed with the Claimant. The court held in my client's favour and awarded £27,500 for unlawful deduction. The claim is now being progressing through enforcement due to non-payment of the judgment. The enforcement requires careful preparation determining available bank accounts for a third party debt order, involving accounts held overseas.

  • Hill & Redman Law Of Landlord And Tenant
    Contributor
Hill & Redman Law Of Landlord And Tenant Sep 2011 - Sep 2012
An editor of Hill & Redman's Law of Landlord and Tenant asked me to review every statute that is covered in the chapter on Public Sector Residential Tenancies and to find and summarise any relevant case law for each section mentioned. Whilst juggling other extensive professional commitments I determined that 1000 sections were mentioned and that there were roughly 2500 cases relevant to these sections. I carefully summarised the case law, including the complex issues dealt with by recent Supreme Court cases such as Hounslow LBC v Powell [2011] UKSC 8, and submitted the summaries to him in time for them to be sent to the publishers. These summaries were adopted wholesale.
