I have over 40 years experience as a geotechnical engineer working for a number of major consultants, I lectured in geotechnics in a civil engineering department and for the last 20 years I have been with CGL, first an associate director and then as an owner director. I am also a chartered manager as well as a chartered engineer and chartered environmentalist.I have worked on a wide range of geotechnical and geo-environmental projects and have published or contributed to some thirty books, papers and articles.As an Expert Witness I have been instructed on a number of occasions on issues that include foundation movements, retaining structure falures, collapse settlement and slope instabilities.I continue to be active with the Institution of Civil Engineers as a former Chairman of the Southern Association of the ICE, CPR Reviewer and invited lecturer.I continue to work with my co Director, Ian Marychurch to build CGL guiding it to achieve the stated vision while retaining the values of the company. Specialties: Foundation engineering,ground movement analysis, soil structure interaction,slope stability analysis,geo-environmental engineering. I have acted as an Expert Witness on more than twenty occasions.
