DF@SIT is a platform for learning, teaching, project innovation and industry collaboration related to products, processes and service design development. This will further complement the RaPID Centre and enhance SIT’s attractiveness as a “go to” place for innovative design and prototyping.As a member of the Design Factory Global Network (DFGN), a network of innovation hubs in universities and research organisations across five continents in the world, founded by and headquartered at the Aalto University, Finland, DF@SIT will collaborate and innovate with member nodes across cultures, time zones and organisational boundaries to foster radical innovations. Adopting a user-centric model, DF@SIT seeks to help students, academic staff and companies use design-led innovation tools to pilot ideas and build roadmaps for the changing marketplace. DF@SIT will support collaborative innovation projects with industry partners, thereby creating authentic interdisciplinary collaborative learning opportunities for students, and enhance the workplace learning continuum.
