During my time as an undergraduate research assistant at A&M I have been involved in various projects involving sustainable agriculture. Skills I have acquired include usage of GPR, Cosmic-Ray Soil Moisture Observing system (COSMOS), infiltration experiments and in-depth knowledge of double cropping systems. I have conducted undergraduate research on cotton biomass and its effect on the calibration of the COSMOS stationary probes and I am actively working to finish a publication regarding the study.

Stationed on Oahu I was able to experience one of the most crucial development sites in the Bayer CropScience portfolio. My projects consisted of managing a bird repellent study and co-managing herbicide and fungicide studies along with another field agronomist. The bird study focused on the efficacy of Avian Control Spray and Avipel seed treatment. I was able to interact with a broad variety of disciplines including land preparation, experimental design, seed packaging, planting, data measurements and processing. The herbicide and fungicide studies focused on assigning damage ratings and control factors to sandbur and Gibberella ear rot respectively. I also had the opportunity to learn various breeding techniques, sampling methods, procedures for bulking crop for production, field knowledge and critical thinking skills. I was able to experience how to lead and interact with a culturally diverse team, the importance of community service and grow in many technical skills
