I have been advising owner managed businesses, high net worth individuals and UK branches & subsidiaries of overseas companies since qualification as a Chartered Accountant in 1991.I trained in London with Citroen Wells and moved to Kidsons Impey (now part of RSM) as a manager on qualification.In 1996 I was looking for a new challenge and found an opportunity to work for a very commercial and well regarded firm two miles from where we were living at the time in Sidcup. I joined as a manager and became a partner in 2000 and was managing partner between 2009 and 2023.My main business goal is to be alongside our clients helping them to personally benefit from the fruits of their hard labours, risk taking and entrepreneurial skills.Whilst looking after a wide range of clients of all shapes & sizes I have particular expertise in advising law firms, solicitors and barristers as one of our partners heading of our law firm team.I have written for the Law Management Sections "Managing for Success" publication and presented on law firm profitability and other issues affecting the legal sector.As managing partner I led McBrides through a 50% increase in turnover, the acquisition of another practice, the creation of our own payroll bureau team and the 2020 pandemic. I now head our marketing and internal finance teams as well as looking after my client portfolio and undertaking business development activities. I have "appeared" as a commentator on business matters on local radio.
