• At CILEX (Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) I designed and delivered public affairs plans that supported CILEX’s strategic objectives and promoted a persuasive narrative to support the organisation's policy calls. Evaluated, reported, budgeted and communicated these activities and their impact.• Prepared senior leaders for, or myself led, meetings with Cabinet Ministers, Shadow Ministers and Chief Executives. • Managed CILEX's relationship with stakeholders in UK legislatures and governments. Built relationships with parliamentarians, government departments, lawyers and colleagues at partner organisations.

Influenced government strategy by drafting consultation and inquiry responses, policy briefings and reports on key issues. I maintained knowledge of cancer statistics, political news, legislative and public policy developments relevant to brain tumours, whilst ensuring that the charity's activities were informed by the views of patients. I also provided the Secretariat to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Brain Tumours, in adherence with parliamentary rules.

I lobbied politicians, from Parliamentary to Parish Council level, on a range of planning issues. Additionally, I utilised demographic data, opinion polling and social media to hone messaging designed to connect with hard-to-reach groups and motivate potential supporters of new developments. This entailed planning public exhibitions, directing stakeholder workshops and conducting media interviews on behalf of clients.

Supported colleagues to provide bespoke public affairs services to a range of clients, from NGOs to multinational corporations. I produced bespoke research for public affairs clients, summarising Government and Opposition policy, legislation and parliamentary debates in both Westminster & the devolved legislatures. I also attended and reported on political events, such as party conferences.

I undertook a comparative review of the politics of judicial independence in the UK, the Commonwealth, Eire and the United States of America. This involved examining both the legal theory and the wider policy impact of the judiciary’s constitutional position.

I created a system of political monitoring, including building databases of parliamentarians interested in education, starting bi-weekly summaries of current affairs and designing templates for policy briefs.

During my time at the Centre for Public Scrutiny I produced policy briefings on Clinical Commissioning Groups and tenant management of social housing. I also carried out in-depth research on the organisation’s response to a call for evidence from the Political & Constitutional Reform Select Committee pertaining to the quality of legislation.

As an intern at the campaigning group 38 Degrees I gained experience of how to manage a campaign - from inception to action. I was responsible for analysing membership data, researching policy and monitoring the effectiveness of our campaigns through software packages. I was also designated as ‘Homepage Manager’ and tasked with creating and updating project websites.
