Linriss provides contract and consultancy services to help businesses function more effectively.Linriss can offer services within fields including data analysis, business analysis, project management and IT strategy, as well as general business services such as facilitation, training and document writing.Example contract engagements:• Consolidated asset configuration data using Power BI, bringing together data into a single “Gold List”, which allowed the business access to accurate and up to date asset data for the first time, and allowed them to switch their efforts from assembling the data to addressing asset health issues. Provided tangible security benefits, evidenced through improved reporting.• Developed Power BI solution to report on managed security service data obtained via API connection. The solution compensated for functionality gaps in the managed service, enabling the security team to ensure the IT estate was fully protected.• Worked with IT department of >£1bn food business to introduce service management and governance structures from scratch, aligned with the ITIL best practice framework: - Analysis of existing practice using Power BI, and development of recommendations - Creation of Power BI performance dashboards to support new processes, backed up by governance structures including KPIs, accountabilities and a performance review / improvement framework• Worked with an enterprise architecture team to design and implement a management information solution to allow them to monitor their patterns of work more effectively, and make resourcing forecasts and decisions.• Procured and implemented a number of new IT systems and services, in areas such as service management, privileged access management, and specialist outsourced services.• Project managed a number of IT infrastructure and enterprise application projects, including major warehouse management system implementation on new technology stack (Linux/Oracle).

The senior IT professional and head of department in a national business with over 4,000 employees, 80 sites and an annual turnover of >£110m, responsible for strategic and operational management of all IT and communications services. Direct accountability for a £1.4m budget.Hands-on technical leadership in relation to databases, management information and reporting. Used T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS to bring together and report on key business data from a wide variety of systems.For example:• Worked with a cross-functional group to develop requirements for reporting on essential training compliance, then established a data warehouse and suite of dynamic reports to deliver the required Management Information.• Established automated ETL packages to populate the IT Service Desk System with data from a range of disparate sources.• Created a data warehouse and suite of reports to support improved access to management information for the IT Department.• Used leaver data from corporate payroll system to identify and close active IT user accounts for individuals who had left the business.Developed and implemented the IT strategy and annual plan, delivering business transformation through appropriate and effective IT. Leadership of project teams to provide analysis, internal consultancy and project management for major improvement projects within the organisation. As well as carrying out my own portfolio of work I provided advice and consultancy to project managers, analysts and executives working on other projects. The role required me to engage at all levels within the organisation, from customers and front line staff to Directors, Assistant Directors and Heads of Service. Day to day work also included risk management, business case development, workshop facilitation and a wide range of written and verbal communication activity.I have included two sample project summaries to provide an illustration of the type of work that I was involved in.
