I lead a dedicated team of educators as we dream up innovative approaches to teaching and learning, incubate them, and institutionalize them as impactful instructional programs. I am currently overseeing the district's BCPS Makes program, working to create maker learning opportunities for all students. Included within the BCPS Makes program is support for school makerspaces, a centralized maker learning equipment lending library, and the Mobile Innovation Lab: a converted school bus that serves as a mobile innovation/makerspace in which students are exposed to 21st Century tools, technologies, and learning experiences.As the subject matter expert (SME) for maker learning, I develop and deliver professional learning opportunities related to the Maker Movement. This professional learning support includes physical setup of a makerspace, long range visioning, purchasing advice, lesson planning with curricular connections, and effective pedagogical practice training.
