I have had the opportunity to take a hobby into more than that by owning a fishery and running a small syndicate on one of the UK’s most low key and unknown venues. Through this project I have promoted the venue through local and industry publications including a monthly regular column in one of the UK largest angling publications as well as gaining a six page feature in the UK largest angling publications 100th edition. The venue has gone from badly managed through to thriving and has sold out for the next few years with a waiting list of over 100 people wanting to join the venue. The future looks great for the venue and the club alike, through hard work and good management the venue is now pretty self sufficient and has been a great opportunity for me to develop even further.

We then make sure our attraction inventory is in the right place at the right time for you, be that job boards, social media or Digital media. In addition to this I lead our Resourcing Operations team which includes 4 direct reports and a further 13 people under these 4 direct reports. Within the team we cover everything to do with Attraction, Employer branding, Talent branding, Systems, Partner management, MI & Reporting, Interview coordination, Offer coordination and Non FTE coordination. A lot of the role was coaching and people development which I love and really enjoy seeing people learn, grow and progress. I get to work with some amazing people on a daily basis and for me its these people along with the environment that make the difference and allow me to be my best. Owning all attraction and branding into Vodafone UK was a great privilege and a pretty big job. With so many target audiences solutions needed to be tailored as well as varied. These would range from Talent brand strategy through to localised and targeted campaigns. With a geeky interest in utilising new technologies we did some really cool things in the events and event planning space as well social marketing, Recruitment marketing as well as ad placement/ad servicing. Everything was backed up and measured through data analytics and all decisions were made as data drivers decisions.

Within my role I am responsible for all areas of recruitment, company-wide, ranging from high volume Customer Service recruitment on a temporary or permanent basis through to highly specialised and competative complex recruitment for niche roles. With the daily focus on meeting the business needs this could be identifying the best routes to market for a difficult to fill role and writing adverts, through to designing assessment methods for selection, through to working closly with the RPO to make sure the roles are filled or just offering training and advice to recruiting managers. Sometimes this just means rolling up my sleeves and getting stuck in with some recruitment. Candidate attraction is a huge part of my role and I am responsible for identifying, developing and making sure we are getting the very best from our routes to market, resulting in a reduction in cost per hire. Management of the Resourcing team responsbile for all areas including contract generation, pre employment screening and creating payroll records for new employees also keeps me busy, along with always striving to improve the experience we offer to the candidates and the managers during this process. As well as the day to day duties I am responsible for a number of projects including improving our SAP ATS, developing an eLearning package for recruiting managers, development and maintenance of an Onboarding program in addition to developing our social media strategy, apprentice & graduate recruitment programmes and employer brand development. Not only are no two days the same but what we do as a company makes a real difference to peoples lives. With experience in attraction, assessment centres, new system implementation and training as well as delivery of high and low volume technical and non technical positions.

Heading up the Temporary Team at Reading covering the Reading, Newbury, Henley and surrounding area.Responsible for all levels of candidates ranging from Accounts Administrators through to Finance Directors.

I initially started as a lead generator and then quickly progressed through to a Resourcer and then consultant. I worked a number of markets but my main area was within the Engineering sector specialising on the following areas:Controls Engineering (PLC, SCADA & DCS Systems)Electronic Engineering (Digital and Analogue)Software Engineering (Embedded RTOS software).I built up some niche areas and focused heavily on the mobile telecoms industry and the automotive industry (Drive train, ECU & infotainment)During my time at GCS I found that I worked the engineering market very well due to picking up the technical knowledge that was required to successfully screen candidates and communicate with clients.

This started as a weekend job and then I progressed through to managing 2 stores in Reading and Guildford. My duties included the following:Responsible for hitting individual and shops targets set from Head Office,Loss prevention,Buying of stock,Staff management (including recruitment, training, reviews and wages),Key holder duties,Cashing up the daily floats,Attending industry shows.Key Achievements:Made the largest sale to one person (Still stands),Responsible for buying a new brand which later resulted in the highest profit range,Won monthly award 11 times in 1 year for the best “Up Sale” figures.
