Working in the Office of the Director of Public Health, within the Public Health Agency at Manatū Hauora.Portfolio responsibilities in Climate and Health, One Health, Antimicrobial Resistance, Urban Design, Transport, Public Health Surveillance Systems and Sexual Health/Bloodborne infections.Specific roles include:- Clinical lead on New Zealand’s Health National Adaptation Plan - I led the development of adaptation actions in the plan across leadership, governance, surveillance systems, climate and health in all policies, and climate health risk assessment. I also led the application to a research funder for a national Vulnerability and Adaptation assessment.- Clinical advisor to the Ministry’s Public Health Surveillance and Knowledge programme - I sat on the governance group for this programme and was closely involved in the development of the New Zealand Public Health Surveillance Strategy.- Ministry of Health lead for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza preparedness - Working closely with One Health partner agencies, I co-led the development of the New Zealand HPAI Incursion Health Framework, and regularly advised the Minister of Health on HPAI preparedness, including leading Ministry of Health input to Cabinet papers.- New Zealand representative on the Australian Blood Borne Virus and Sexually Transmitted Infections Standing Committee
