Currently leading the AECOM Traffic Engineering team in Newcastle and supporting technical delivery in the North of England. Broad experience in a number of projects in highways and local roads/traffic disciplines, with key strengths in active travel design, traffic signal control and bus priority. Developed a range of skills from scheme planning through feasibility to detailed design, primarily in a Traffic Engineering role. Experience includes:- Project managing multi-discipline studies including Gateshead Boulevard design, Coast Road sustainable transport corridor design and numerous transport interchange improvement studies;- Traffic Engineering design lead on projects including Newcastle North of City Improvements, Lindisfarne and 'The Arches' scheme in South Tyneside, A19 Sheraton Interchange, Armley Gyratory, Manchester Metrolink, Tyne Tunnel southern junction and S278 works detailed design;- Design of Active Travel schemes including City Centre West-East Link (Edinburgh), Connect2 schemes and TfL Cycle Superhighways, and auditing of routes including NCC CCAG schemes and Leeds CityConnect2;- Traffic signal design lead (National Highways Sector Scheme 8 Accredited for the overseeing and installation of Highway Electrical equipment) for projects including A1(M) Scotch Corner, A1(M) Junction 63, A1(M) Junction 47 and A19/A182 (Dalton Park). Supported Newcastle on developing UTC plan strategy for city centre loop;- Public transport improvement studies and design lead including the North East bus priority intervention study (informing delivery of TCF schemes), Leeds A64 bus priority corridor study, North Tyneside public transport study, Red Route track management for TfL and bus operation reviews.- Highway design (up to preliminary design) including the planning, alignment and interchange strategy and design for Jeddah Middle Ring Road;- Research projects including DfT published report on the potential future control of traffic signals in low demand periods (https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/9209/traffic-signals-low-demand-periods.pdf); and- Road safety schemes including Local Authority traffic calming schemes.Advanced knowledge in the use of LINSIG, TRANSYT, TranEd, , ARCADY, PICADY modelling and AutoCAD for the design, assessment/appraisal of transportation schemes. Knowledge of VISSIM (including VISVAP for intelligent signal control)
