My role is to manage the Infrastructure team and environment to ensure business continuity, quality of service and efficiencies within the equipment and solutions. Heavily involved in the high level planning, design and architecture of most IT solutions, especially Infrastructure. Working closely with other Team Leaders and Project Office, my role is to analyse requirements, make suggestions and then assign resources appropriately. There is also a need to be involved in the day to day administration and configuration of the IT services, in order to maintain a technical understanding and architectural overview. Planned and implemented several high profile projects, including a complete core refresh, SAN/ESXi environment migration and upgrade and a complete end to end BC/DR solution (involving cloud suppliers). Undertook migration of our email provider from Messagelabs to Mimecast, which included a complete re-evaluation and reconfiguration of the end to end messaging solution. The net result was not 1 single delayed email. In charge of the IT commission for any new offices. These included London (100 users), Belfast (15 users), Glasgow/Edinburgh (80 users). Included the communications, racks/servers, network, desktop and general IT configuration. Each office had to have suitable technology chosen and applied to ensure the most efficient, effective and best ROI. -
