I have worked as a BSL/English interpreter for over 20 years. This has lead me into campaigning (StopChanges2AtW) and establishing the National Union of British Sign Language Interpreters (NUBSLI) in 2014, where I held the post of Branch Secretary for 4 years. I co-founded Signalise Co-op, a platform co-operative which is co-designed and co-run by Deaf people and BSL/English interpreters. I worked as Business and Development Manager and was also a member of the board until 2022. Away from interpreting, I am also a Director of Bog Eyed Books, a small publishing company specialising in Children's Comics, having come from a background working at the British Library. Our books are regularly recommended on reluctant readers schemes and we are keen to promote comics for literacy.
