I have 16 + years IT experience and more than 12 years system implementation and application support experience, I implemented areas of an ERP system (IFS) in Babcock Rail and more recently in Babcock Marine. I was also part of the upgrade team at Babcock Rail and twice at Babcock Marine. My strongest areas in the ERP system being HR, Training Administration, Document Management, Expenses, Time and Attendance, Competence Management, Resource Allocation and other similar areas, however with more than 8 years experience implementing, upgrading and supporting the application, I would be comfortable learning other areas and other systems.Prior to implementing IFS, I was the IT trainer at Babcock Rail, this involved not only running but developing Training courses for a wide variety of employees, ranging from Track Workers with no IT experience to advanced users.Specialties: System ImplementationSystem support and maintenanceTraining small to large groupsDeveloping training coursesManaging employeesBeing an interface between the Business and ITBusiness Requirements AnalysisDeveloping a system to meet the Business mandatory requirementsCreating test plansRunning user workshops and UAT sessionsFacilitatingAble to work with all Levels of people from Senior Management to End UsersBusiness TransformationChange ManagementSuccess FactorsIFSSharePoint

Business System Support AnalystBabcock Rail Nov 2006 - Apr 2010In 2007 I played a key part in a major system upgrade of the company ERP System, this involved creating test plans, test scripts and application solution testing of new and existing functionality. I was involved in the database migration which involved implementing the live database and being fully functional for 3000 users overnight. The project migration was a success.Moving forward as the Business System Support Analyst, my day to day duties involved responsibility for the IFS live and test databases, ensuring that security and system changes are maintained to a high standard and that availability, capacity and continuity of the databases were managed efficiently by the Group Data Centre. As part of a team I provide system support to 1300 employees, previously there was a maximum 4000. Part of this role involves working alongside the business to understand and improve current processes, translating these into specifications to be developed within my team. This enhances user satisfaction, improves data in and in out of the system, and simplifies processes which in turn reduces time and money spent. In the last year at Babcock Rail, I was responsible for the decommissioning of 3 legacy systems and migration of the functionality to IFS. Systems Improvements were implemented as part of each migration. This role fluctuates from being intensely involved with the user community, to defining and testing in a lone or controlled environment. I am very comfortable in both situations. As a Subject Matter Expert, I often provide IFS consultation to other divisions within -
Ifs Business Systems Support AnalystBabcock Rail Jun 1992 - Apr 2010 -
Ifs Implementation Team AnalystBabcock Rail Feb 2005 - Nov 2006In this role I was responsible for the implementation of the Training Administration, Employee Development, Competence Management and (components of the) HR modules of the Babcock chosen ERP System (IFS).The Implementation involved a huge learning curve in which I successfully gained an overall understanding of the system. From this I was then able to process map the current business processes and requirements. As part of the project I was responsible for field mapping, running end to end tests and holding workshops with the business. During this time I worked closely with the development team, data cleansing, specifying new reports, security profiles, data migration requirements, screen layouts, user queries and testing migration results. This project was a huge achievement, as it was delivered within very tight project time scalesPost Implementation of the project I increased my knowledge in other areas of IFS, such as Time and Attendance, and Time Registration. The Document Management implementation, which at the time wasn't proceeding as successfully as previous projects, was reassigned to me. -
I.T. TrainerBabcock Rail Oct 2003 - Feb 2005For this role I gained a City and Guilds certificate in Instructional Techniques 7331, as well as attending in house training. I set-up I.T. training suites in Manchester and Glasgow, and as the first permanent I.T. trainer in the company I was able to define this role. I developed in house courses and was responsible for evaluating and purchasing external course that were fit for the business.A rewarding and challenging aspect of this role was to train track based employees who had no IT experience and in some cases never used a PC before. The trainees left the course with the confidence and knowledge to do so. -
