Nicola has worked in special educational needs for over 20 years. She started her working life as a classroom teacher, promoted to SENCO within 18 months of teaching and never looked back. Nicola continued in the SENCO role for 8 years and then moved into a Specialist Teacher position within a Local Authority.Whilst working as a Specialist Teacher, she gained her dyslexia teacher and assessor's qualification. She then went on to extend her expertise in Autism, studying for her Master's Degree in Autism (children) at Birmingham University.In December 2019, Nicola left the Local Authority and embarked on becoming a freelance special needs consultant. ACE-SEN Consultancy was founded in January 2020. Within a few short weeks, lockdown happened which led Nicola into launching online special needs training webinars. These sessions were hugely successful, training delegates from all over the world. In 2020 Nicola co-founded SEND Station, an online training company specializing in affordable SEND training that enjoys an excellent reputation for providing first class practical SEND training.
