In this role, I spent my time creating strategies to help users get what they need, unpicking internal processes, drafting initial requirements for the development of new features, reviewing product wireframes and prototypes for usability and accessibility, contributing to standards and guidelines for digital services, and editing and creating copy to help users understand AT's services and projects.I created digital campaigns for marketing (advising on layout, content and creating custom branding for the campaign) and did my best to ensure the drive to engage people was balanced with users understanding what they're supposed to do.I also participated in AT's Customer Central project as part of a design-thinking led user research team to develop a social media strategy.

The Auckland Women's Centre (AWC) is a small non-profit organisation working to facilitate empowerment and well-being for women. As a member of the Governance Collective, I contributed to the strategic direction of the organisation, developed policies and provided support for the manager. I held the role of Treasurer from early 2012 til the end of 2013.

I managed The Fred Hollows Foundation's website (using Drupal), internal comms and social media. During this time, I oversaw the redevelopment of The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ website and streamlined the donations process.The role involved a bit of creativity with our internal communications - working out new ways to use Google Apps to improve information flow within The Foundation's Auckland office and across the country programmes in Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific.I managed (and grew) The Foundation's social media presence, wrote copy for publications, managed the production of collateral, and generally supported the Communications Manager.

This role involved content editing for the Women's Health Action and Breastfeeding Friendly Workplaces websites and social media accounts, event management, health consumer advocacy, research, information and support on women's health issues.I also spent some time as acting Breastfeeding Advocate - running network meetings, social media promotion of the Big Latch On, and organising community events.

Responsible for the Council for International Development's website, including overseeing a rebuild during my time there.I also provided marketing and administrative support to the Training Manager and Capacity Building Officer; for development training for international development organisation staff members (including Oxfam, Save the Children, Unicef through to small organisations) and the biennial conference with international development partners who came from developing countries all over the world.

While I was completing my degree, I held the role of Assistant Librarian at Family Planning. The role involved cataloguing new books, compiling a resource list of the latest research produced for sexual and reproductive health, and reviewed and filed mediawatch listings. I also was acting Librarian for a few months during recruitment for the role.
