I am an interdisciplinary researcher who specialises in land-use planning to promote biodiversity conservation and sustainable development agendas, along with the maintenance of ecosystem services in dynamic, multi-use landscapes. I strongly believe in applied research and orientate my work to solving ‘real-life’ problems, as well as working at the research-policy-implementation interface. I have a complementary set of analytical skills including GIS, remote sensing and spatial modelling. I have grant writing skills and fundraising experience; I am well versed in scientific writing and have a growing publication record and well apt in adaptive project management. More generally, I have a broad knowledge and skill set within the remit of ecology and conservation with years of collective experience in Borneo, Madagascar, South Africa, the UK and several other places. I also have several year’s professional experience in environmental education, outreach and public engagement. Also see www.researchgate.net/profile/Nicola_Abram
