Managed reservations and logistics of adventure style travel for clients that booked direct, as well as through retail travel agents. This entailed a high level of customer service & care to ensure the clients had an incredible experience from the booking stage, to the completion of their trip. A high level of organisation was required, which included 3 different electronic software filing systems and a physical filing system. This was to keep track of all payments, travel documentation, specialised permits, ground supplier communications and client details. In this role, I maintained a portfolio of trips and I was responsible for communicating all updates for the logistics for each trip, between the clients, the sales team, operations team and company management. Frequent communication to my clients was important, as it dealt with details of their itinerary, as many of these trips required special foreign government permits, VISAs or paperwork required to travel to some remote destinations. I was responsible for ensuring my clients were aware of any specialised equipment needed for adventure touring. Another part of my role was to help new consultants develop and learn the complexity of their trip itineraries with the corresponding documentation and teach the systems in use. My time management was extremely important in this role, as many things were time sensitive due to medical approvals and government Visas or permits. Keeping customers informed along the whole booking process was paramount, to ensure they felt comfortable and excited about their trip.

Australia & New Zealand coach touring groups sales 6-month contract position within the Groups & Charters Department. Developed itineraries for retail agents & the public as well as sold group allotment on existing group departures while providing a high level of customer service. Used Excel formulas to develop pricing and detail costings from our negotiated contracts with suppliers for Australia & New Zealand products for the itineraries. Worked closely with Charters, Operations Departments and individual coach depots with each state to manage availability of our coaches for groups’ bookings. Made sure drivers’ were supplied with detailed notes regarding the itinerary to make travel for the groups run effortlessly. Managed deadlines for payments, travel documents, promptly replying to enquiries for quotes and bookings. Kept up to date with all records for reporting and finance of bookings, and signed off on invoices and vouchers to be paid off to the suppliers.

Liased with the different state Industry Account managers to help convert group sales and promote group bookings with agents. Frequent product updates and in-depth training with various suppliers. Maintained strong relationships with agents and suppliers through phone, email, and industry events.

Retail travel sales position with a focus on customer service. D Recommending the correct product by matching it to the customer’s needs, and creating simple to complex itineraries to suit. Other responsibilities include invoicing customers, and keeping detailed notes to stay organized; Constructing airfares in Galileo and TUD, as well as using multiple systems within the travel industry. General office duties, which include handling money, bank reconciliation, payments to/from suppliers, ordering supplies. I have also been responsible at times for organizing content for team meetings and the supplier visit schedules.

Performing nursing duties associated with a veterinary clinic with a focus on avian pet & wildlife species. Also various exotic pet species. Four separate area rotations of weekly duties. Front reception duties greeting customers, working on reception programs/systems to manage incoming clients and payments, taking money, keeping vets and other nurses aware of incoming clients and bookings. Middle nurse duties include taking care of incoming animals, assisting Vets with daily routines, cleaning hospital animal’s cages, medicating animals in the hospital, and keeping hospital area clean. Surgical nurse duties include maintaining records for surgeries and hospital animals, preparation and set up for surgeries, assisting vets with surgeries, sterilization of equipment, and leaning new surgical equipment, procedures, and methods. Back nurse duties include cleaning all cages, training, feeding, and enriching for birds being boarded while owners are away. Any technical or lab work associated with the bird and exotic animal nursing profession.

I have been responsible for the care and maintenance of resident and wild California Condors and have participated in an active breeding program for this endangered species. I am responsible for proper handling, restraint, and training, as well as all quarantine and isolation procedures. I work closely with veterinarians during surgeries, radiographs, and examinations and regularly perform veterinary technician duties and administer medications. I am also familiar with labwork associated with these duties. I coordinate with other institutions in the transfer of birds and eggs, work with all county, state, and federal agencies associated with an endangered species and prepare animals for release into the wild. Over the last few years I have been instrumental in nest entries, extensive egg incubation and I have regularly visited multiple field sites to work with the birds in their natural setting.

I have been in charge of a collection of more than 200 native and exotic arthropods, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals that are used in hands-on outreach programs for schools, parties, and private functions. I am responsible for animal health, daily habitat maintenance, cage set-up, animal acquisitions, feeding, diet boards, records, facility protocols, and animal training. I regularly wrote curriculum and developed new programming and I oversaw all new teacher and staff training, and proper animal handling. I work extensively with the USDA and USFWS to comply with current regulations pertaining to all live animals at the facility.

I was hired on a one-year contract to assist with the care and maintenance of various amphibians, reptiles, fish, and arthropods. I was responsible for exhibit maintenance, administering medication and medical treatments for required animals, enrichment and training for various species within the collection and regular behind-the-scenes and classroom presentations for staff and guests. I communicated with other keepers and supervisors on the progress and condition of all animals and maintained daily and monthly care logs for all animals. I was required to be fully trained on all federal, state and city regulations pertaining to collection animals in my care.

For two and a half years, I facilitated educational presentations and classes correlating to the Zoo’s theme and presented to a wide variety of guests of all ages. I was responsible for the proper handling various mammals, birds and reptiles and assisted with the creation of programs. Animal presentations were performed both on zoo grounds and in offsite programs.

For a little over a year, I was put in charge of cataloging and maintaining existing research collection specimens. I was asked to prepare study skins, take tissue samples, osteoscribe, and enter applicable data. I assisted in several museum projects in Ornithology, Herpetology, Entomology, Ichthyology, and Paleontology Divisions. My most prominent role was aiding with bat and rodent species diversity and habitat surveys in Colima, Mexico where I gained valuable experience in mist netting, banding, and GPS grid surveys.

For an interim period, I was asked to oversee the health and maintenance of dermestid beetle colonies where I cataloged specimens as they entered and left the colony.I also prepared specimens for return to respective departments in the institution and directed scheduling with various researchers.

For two years, I was responsible for daily habitat maintenance and the health of all animals in the collection. The collection consisted of various reptiles, amphibians and fish. During this time I developed educational exhibits & programs for the associated “Discovery Room” and taught school groups, after-school and weekend programs, and summer camps. I also created taxidermy study skins of birds, mammals and reptiles and prepared mounted insect specimens for display in educational programs.

Over the course of a summer, I managed feeding schedules, diets, and handling techniques for all nursery wildlife and trained new staff and volunteers on nursery protocol, feeding animals and animal handling. The nursery animals included various mammals, birds and reptiles. I assisted with the transfer of animals and determination of release dates, with outside enclosures, intake, isolation and critical care units and in several minor surgeries and medical procedures. I also worked with USFWS, Oklahoma Fish & Game, and local landowners to secure release sites.
