I am an associate director of DEFT153 Limited, which delivers data, digital, storytelling and transformational change for media, public and private sector companies serving the highways and transport sector. Waysphere, the company I founded after leaving the Department for Transport, had worked with DEFT153 since 2017. Together, we are able to provide the market with a more powerful offering that combines our shared knowledge of the transport sector with learning and skills development, content and experience creation and technical service design.Before founding Waysphere and then joining DEFT153, I was Head of Digital Transformation and Transport Data at the UK’s Department for Transport. Here I led a programme to exploit the value of local transport data and improve data sharing. I am a frequent public speaker on the role of digital technology and data in future transport. Prior to Transport, I undertook a series of strategic programme management roles for the Cabinet Office. I founded my own internet consultancy in 1995 and then gained experience in a wide variety of technology roles. Before that I had a successful career in marketing communications.
