About Nicolas Hurtado Bautista

I proudly identify as Afro-Latino, hailing from Bogota, Colombia, and raised in Anaheim, California. Growing up with my single mother and grandparents, I learned the importance of education and its ability to transform lives. This foundational belief fueled his determination to pursue higher education, leading me to UCLA, where I graduated in 2020 with a major in Biology and a minor in Chicana & Chicano Studies. To further prepare for medical school, I completed a postbaccalaureate program at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. My passion for medicine is driven by my commitment to addressing health disparities, practicing cultural empathy, and providing vital resources to uplift marginalized communities. Currently, as a medical student at Charles R. Drew University, I am on a dedicated path to becoming a physician who positively impacts individuals and communities alike. My ultimate goal is to inspire future generations of underrepresented students, showing them that they, too, can break barriers and make a significant difference in medicine.
