About Nicolas Valiente

I am currently a student at Northwestern University pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Data Science and Global Health with minors in Business Institutions. My academic interests lie within the intersection of data science, politics, public health, and business. Specifically, how we can use data to predict and model health and policy trends as they relate to business.I also participate actively in various extracurricular and professional activities that align with my career goals. I work as a Latinx Study Abroad Student Liaison at Northwestern's Global Learning Office, where I promote and facilitate study-abroad programming to Latino/a students. I am also a BCG Launch, McKinsey El Futuro, and Goldman Sachs Virtual Insight Series Participant, where I gain insights into management consulting and investment banking through case preparation, networking, and informational sessions. Additionally, my experience as a summer intern at UnitedHealth Group has furthered my passion and skill set as they relate to a career in the healthcare business.Through these experiences, I have developed and demonstrated core data analysis, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving competencies. I have also received multiple honors and awards, such as the National Hispanic Recognition Award, the AP Scholar with Distinction Award, and the Gold Key Award in Poetry. I am fluent in English and Spanish and proficient in Python and R programming languages. I aspire to pursue a career in PE, M&A restructuring consulting, or M&A-focused investment banking, where I can apply my skills and knowledge to solve complex and impactful challenges.
