I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Building Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. My passion for the construction sector began in high school, where I spent my summers working for my family’s business, assisting electricians and plumbers on site. Throughout my studies, my interest evolved towards new technologies and their potential to improve construction practices. This drive led me to focus my Bachelor’s dissertation on “Smart Thermostats for Increased Energy Efficiency in Residential Buildings” and my Master’s thesis on “Leveraging Data Mining of Energy Certificate Databases to Align with EPBD IV Objectives.”During my academic journey, I gained practical experience as a technical consultant intern at Hilti, one of the leading global providers of innovative tools and technology for the construction industry. In this role, I directly supported clients and designers, helping them utilize the company’s structural modelling software and select appropriate anchoring products for complex projects.Since joining IES in 2023, I have mastered the VE energy modelling software and worked on a range of residential and commercial projects, including Irish compliance (Part L/BER), overheating assessments (CIBSE TM52/59), and LEED energy modelling. I assist clients in identifying efficient pathways to make their buildings more sustainable. Additionally, I have enhanced my programming skills by developing Python scripts to automate tasks such as report writing and data entry within the software.Outside of work, I am passionate about traveling. Originally from Italy, I have studied abroad in the UK, Australia, and Chile, and I am currently based in Ireland. In my time off, I organize and coordinate international trips for groups of up to 16 people through a tour operator. My experience in managing complex travel logistics has sharpened my organizational skills and ability to stay calm under pressure — qualities that seamlessly translate into my professional life.
