About Nicolas Andre

Interested in how digital technologies change our relation to music, I co-founded two start-ups (MP3.fr and Musiwave) which contributed to change the way music was distributed. With Audionamix I focused on the mathematical structure of the sound. Results are used today in the film industry. With Onteis, my interest lies in organic theory and its medical applications.Through these activities that implicate mathematics, I was seduced by the mathematical ability to reveal non-intuitive realities. In this way I experienced and I continue to explore this curious paradox “nothing is more practical than a good theory”.Today cybernetic tends to reduce the human being to a measurable entity. While this approach was helpful in addressing health problems at a certain level, much of these measures need still to be founded scientifically. This foundation requires strong clarifications about how to deal with objectivity and subjectivity and therefore introduces existential considerations.
