Recreation Program Coordinator
Current• Oversees 5 youth camps and 20 current programs for adults, seniors, and youth. • Supervises 12 program instructors and 16 facility supervisors/seasonal camp staff. • Develops, implements, evaluates and sustains programs for participants. (Including educational classes, fitness programs, arts programs, enrichment camps, and day trips for special needs and seniors). • Conducts informative parent night meetings for cheerleading, swim team, and summer camp programs.• Continues to cultivate relationship with Pinehurst Elementary School by implementing youth bike club, assisting with bike to school day and bike rodeos, establishing the Young Athletes program in the special needs classroom, and organizing an inclusive play day in 2019 to educate all students on inclusion.• Expanded program offerings by adding 19 new programs and camps overall since September of 2014. • Designed and implemented 7 new programs and monthly trips for special needs and senior populations (sectors of residents previously not served by PPRD). • Developed SOP manual for the Cannon Park Community Center.• Appointed as Project Manager for the Rassie Wicker playground renovation. • Actively participated on the Cannon Park Community Center design team; oversaw purchasing of FFE.• Served as Co-Coordinator for Senior Games in the Pines since 2017.• Maintains community partnerships with The Arc of Moore County and Special Olympics Moore County to host several annual themed events at the Fair Barn. • Upheld and enhanced the partnership with FirstHealth Center for Fitness by maintaining professional contacts with staff and revamped the co-sponsored swim team to expand numbers to 50 swimmers under a qualified swim instructor.• Advocated for purchase of accessible van; researched options, demonstrated need, submitted budget request and worked with Fleet Maintenance on purchase.• Served two terms as chairperson for the Wellness Committee for all employees of the VOP.
