I work with professors and students at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY to bring audio, text and video reported work into a finished state for publication on the NYCity News Service website. Student work has earned awards including from the Associated Collegiate Press.

Clients include the newsroom Block Club Chicago and Farai Chideya's documentary series January 6: An American Story.

I led the research and fact-checking department of TED, developing and streamlining standards for vetting hundreds of talks, podcasts and other content — with a special focus on content related to climate change and COVID-19. I supervised up to a dozen fact checkers at a time to manage overlapping deadlines between multiple departments.

I spent years developing deep sources and understanding of the criminal justice system while covering criminal proceedings in Queens Supreme Court as well as in civil court. I filed daily dispatches from the trial and ultimate acquittal of three NYPD officers who shot Sean Bell, an unarmed man, on the eve of his wedding day, as well as the exoneration.

I worked as national and international correspondent, with many stories focusing on hurricanes and other climate disasters. I reported from New Orleans in the immediate wake of Hurricane Katrina and from Florida on the day Hurricane Charley hit. I also used my Spanish-speaking skills to report the story of a Dominican Republic town where hundreds of people.

I was responsible for daily coverage of the more than 300 public elementary, middle and high schools in Queens County as they underwent a historic transition to mayoral control under then-Mayor Michael Bloomberg. My coverage documented the effects of centralized control, particularly as it related to special education services.
