Having led The Joshua School’s Early Intervention Program from 2010 –2016, I have a deep passion for children. This role changed me as a person, helped me form my leadership philosophies, and provided me with an entirely new perspective on education. Although family life called me away, I always think fondly about that role. When I started at The Joshua School in December 2010, there was one student in their Early Intervention Program. I grew the program to capacity in 3 months, pursued a new space in 2015, and created the Joshua Early Childhood Center (JECC) – The Joshua School’s 3rd campus and the first to also serve typically developing students – in 2016. I lead the strategic planning, budgeting, marketing, fundraising, licensing, and other start-up activities to make it a success. It was an exciting time and a dream come true.My colleagues came to know me as a cheerful, inspiring advocate – a dependable and caring “Mama Bear.” I am confident in the face of uncertainty due to strong intuition that rarely steers me wrong. As a leader, I aim to create an atmosphere where people can bring their authentic selves and feel supported, heard, and uplifted.I possess a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and am a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Early in my career, I worked as a therapist at Children’s Memorial Hospital, an ABA Supervisor at ACES, Inc., and an Assessment and Treatment Specialist at San Diego Center for Children (2003 – 2010).During my recent planned career break, I served on the board of The Rise School of Denver, Treeline Pass, and executed several community events for low income families. An example is working with Sheridan High School to provide every student in the entire school with a holiday wish! Every wish was granted and it was an amazing experience! I am currently working on my next non-profit adventure and can't wait to share it with you!
