Professional Highlights: Using learner-centered techniques as well as extensive knowledge of post-secondary information resources to successfully educate students on the entire research process during individual education sessions at the information desk, Writing Skills Centre, and in the online eTutor Alberta environment. Diagnose students’ writing process issues, successfully communicate diagnosis to students and work collaboratively with students to resolve said issues in half hour writing skills appointments. Connect students with college resources—including mental health and learning disability resources—to ensure that each individual receives the support they need to successfully continue their post-secondary education. Create and maintain the student writing tutors’ calendar while ensuring that all tutor shifts are covered in the event of sickness. Pass on professional development learning opportunities to the student tutors. Produce an initial podcast that would help online and auditory learners understand the writing process in an academic environment. Present writing skills information to classes at the request of faculty. Aid in the advertisement of the Writing Skills Centre to college members through social media. Participated in committee work to create a peer-tutor support program, and develop a non-academic reading culture at the RDC library.

Professional Highlights: Used learner-centered techniques to help students improve their knowledge of information literacy, technology, and of the College. Successfully administrated and troubleshot Red Deer College’s interlibrary loan software with a focus on identifying and resolving technological issues. Located, ordered, and processed books, journals, DVDs, and other requested research materials in a timely manner while maintaining institutional and legal copyright regulations. Conceptualized, planned, and presented two sizeable library projects that were approved for development by library management. Brought projects to the final stages pending administrative and budget approval. Created and implemented sizeable information management program. Collaborated with team members to create best practices for information management in the library. Continue to work on standardizing information management practices and reorganizing large library drives.

Professional Highlights: Interacted in a friendly and helpful manner with students, faculty and patrons to address reference related questions, resolve technological issues, and provide access to various University level learning materials. Developed creative problem solving skills as a means of ensuring that all patron queries were resolved at a single point of service. Worked as an individual member of a team to complete library wide projects related to such areas as collection development, learning guides, and the collation of online learning materials.

Professional Highlights: Responsible for the successful initiation and resolution of 60-150 specialist referrals per day. Responded to 60-100 emails, 20-50 voicemails, and day-to-day inquiries from clinic staff in a timely, courteous, and effective manner. Created the Edmonton Oliver Primary Care Network’s (PCN) referral management system using existing medical care standards and best practices. Transformed a single-person referral system into an effective and productive health care support system manned by four team members. Directed team members on best practices and ensured that the team performed according to clinic needs.  Worked within a team setting to implement the Health Screening Program for the benefit of clinic staff, patients, and physicians.
