Office Manager
CurrentAfter a successful stint as Assistant Office Manager, I interviewed for and was selected to serve as Office Manager. In this role, I maintain organized daily office operations across the Brooklyn neighborhood offices, courthouse, and several satellite offices while ensuring the proper implementation of administrative and operational procedures and policies.Serving as a true right-hand support to a staff of 100+ union and non-union employees, HR responsibilities include hiring, on-boarding/leading office tours, training, talent development, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, managing personnel files, and resolving work flow issues. Additionally, I work closely with employees on establishing goals, offering constructive feedback, helping them to identify development opportunities, and advance their careers both within and outside of LAS.• Directly supervise a team of paralegals, investigators, support staff, temporary employees, and volunteers• Key point-person regarding facility issues, purchasing, expense reports, petty cash, client escrow accounts, leave accrual, and the application of organization-wide policies and procedures• Liaise with various external partners including building management (repairs, cleaning, facilities management), vendors, NYC agencies (HRA, HPD, NYCHA, etc.), and the courthouse community Accomplishments of note include:• Ensured the office’s seamless transition to a remote work environment during COVID by creating systems and championing the use of SharePoint and Teams to foster collaboration and communication • Captured massive efficiencies during COVID by creating and implementing multiple automated systems that were adopted at scale and at no additional cost to LAS• Spearheaded all financial matters for LAS’s entire civil division during COVID, obtaining approvals prior to payment• Oversaw a thoughtful, safe, and effective return to on-site operations post-COVID
