Researched directly under the guidance of Dr. Tony Gonzalez and upperclassman lab mentors.(BIO206L, Spring 2022):Attained foundational lab experience in polymerase chain reactions, nanodrop UV spectrophotometry, agarose gel electrophoresis, DNA and plasmid purification, E.coli transformation, and BP cloning.(BIO377, Fall 2022):Joined specialized "Diagnostic Plants" Project, aimed to explore plants as biosensors of environmental pollutants.Worked towards re-engineering the p35S plasmid by implementing a toxin-sensing promoter (GST1) via digestion-ligation cloning techniques and creating a reporter system through fusion with anthocyanin pigment genes. The resulting transgenic plant would ideally change color upon detection of heavy metal pollutants.

Collaborated with Dr. Lesli Bordas to lead students in General Chemistry I (Fall) and II (Spring).Led 20 students in mandatory weekly discussion section and proctors exams.Was responsible for monitoring the activity and level of content understanding for a group of 15 students. Graded weekly discussion, homework, and reading guide assignments.Tutored and reviewed with students needing further assistance during weekly office hours.Communicated with fellow TA team in syllabus planning, exam format, and grading division.Created new lecture slides that optimize content clarity through visual learning.
