With over 20 years of work experience in various fields, I am a passionate and versatile integrative housing specialist at Lakes Region Mental Health Center (LRMHC), where I help people with mental health challenges find and maintain stable and affordable housing. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from Arizona State University, and I am interested in the intersection of mental health, social justice, and community development. I value empathy, compassion, and collaboration, and I strive to create a positive and supportive environment for my clients and colleagues.In my current role at LRMHC, I work with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to assess the housing needs and preferences of each client, and to provide them with resources, referrals, and advocacy. I also coordinate with landlords, property managers, and housing agencies to ensure that the clients have access to safe and quality housing options. Some of the skills that I use and develop in this role include communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and crisis management. Additionally, I leverage my previous experience as a shift supervisor at Starbucks, where I honed my customer service, leadership, and teamwork skills, and as a switchboard operator at LRGHealthcare, where I gained exposure to the healthcare sector.
