I started as an assistant teacher at Westwood Children's School in high school and have continued working here over both winter and spring breaks during college. As a preschool teacher I work with children to ensure safety and learning. By focusing on classroom etiquette for 1-4 year-olds, I help prepare children for Kindergarten by teaching appropriate classroom behavior. In a classroom of 17 preschoolers I assist lead teachers in facilitating lesson plans to foster growth in children. I promote learning by setting examples in responsibility, kindness, and creativity.

Savannas shut down in December of my senior year before becoming Amherst Public House, but during my time I worked to create a positive atmosphere and experience for all guests. I engaged with dozens of customers per night to maintain the best experience. I informed guests of nightly specials, recommendations, and menu ingredients to maintain positivity and avoid possible allergens.

During my summer internship I practiced curriculum development for infants to preschoolers in order to learn necessary and effective ways to engage children socially, emotionally and intellectually. I delegated tasks to assistant teachers to form a more coherent classroom and communicated between the school director, other teachers, parents and guardians, and children of student milestones, classroom goals, and changes. I also focused on creating age-appropriate and interactive activities to stimulate young learning.
