Nicole Douglas is a passionate educator who values building partnerships, through effective communication methods, in order to reach collaborative goals. She has twelve years of classroom experience from beginning as a substitute teacher, to refining her teaching practices within her own classroom of unique learners, and now being the team lead for her fourth-grade colleagues. She strives to always reach each of her learners through differentiated instruction that is naturally embedded, on a daily basis, into each lesson that is taught. Nicole is a data focused individual. She continuously uses data from formative assessments to design strategic lessons that will allow each of her learners to make at least a years worth of growth academically. Nicole realizes that learning happens all the time in the classroom and appreciates the moments when she takes on a facilitator role. This allows her to observe how her students learn from and support each other, recognizing that each person in the classroom is both a teacher and a learner. Along with providing high-quality instruction, Nicole also values collaboration and leadership opportunities. Nicole highly values the opportunity to have a greater impact on the teaching profession and the future of education by mentoring individuals who are in the process of becoming educators.
