I love nonprofit development — I do not like 'selling' myself. So here's six tidbits about me and my work:1) I understand how personal fundraising can be. In 2022, I raised over $50K through Help Hope Live to aid my father after he was listed for a heart transplant. When we discovered the expected costs, I found Help Hope Live, a medical expense nonprofit, and began to fundraise on his behalf — he received his gift of life on 10/23/22 and now has a second chance at life. 2) Social media is one of my favorite tools. I love the capability that social media can provide for the average person to share their story - mostly when it's inspiring, artistic, or educational. 3) I turned an internship into a permanent position. While attending school full-time and caring for my father’s ailing health, I also needed to fulfill a required internship. Along came a remote Parkinson's Foundation internship that I fell in love with. The organization has taught me so much and I’m still learning from my colleagues and the people we serve every day.4) How I sum up my work: I provide guidance and consult people as they fundraise for their passion. Whether it's in honor/memory of a loved one, a professional connection, or anything -- helping people successfully organize and execute fundraisers to support their nonprofit of choice is my way of paying forward the support my family received during our time of need.5) I prefer to work for organizations that have a mission I can personally get behind. I have a close family member who has Parkinson’s disease and have worked with seniors in assisted living and memory care. I'm also an advocate for organ donation, affordable medical care, and chronic illness/catastrophic injury lives. I regularly volunteer with local and national NPOs; including Southwest Transplant Alliance, DonateLife, & Help Hope Live. 6) I come from an animal welfare background. Before I went to school for Nonprofit Management, I was an Animal Control Officer and a vet tech. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty — or furry that is.
